KSA organizes awareness prog on COVID-19 in Nilip



KOILAMATI, Mar 20: A public awareness programme on Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was organized was held today in Koilamati and Chokihola under the Nilip Constituency. The  programme was organized by Karbi Students’ Association (KSA).

Doctors from both Koilamati and Chokihola who were present at the public awareness programme explained in details about the outbreak of the infectious virus urged upon the people of both the areas to heed the call of government and medical department for public cooperation towards its spread through recommended measures to prevent infection include frequent hand washing, maintaining distance from others (social distancing), and keeping hands away from the face by all individuals. Later in the day, free masks were also distributed to public who were present programme.

Ex-MAC Samson Tisso, KSA Central Committee leader Barnabas Kiling, Leo Tisso, Dhoni Rongpi, Summit Kiling, Raphael Terang, Chesong Ingty, KDC leaders Modon Kathar, Daniel Tokbi, Phudang Terangpi and other members were present at the awareness programme.

It may be mentioned that, the death toll from COVID-19 outbreak in Italy has also risen to more than 3,400, overtaking the total number of deaths so far registered in China. And according to the World Health Organization, more than 209,000 people have so far been infected by the coronavirus globally and more than 8,700 have died.
