Diphu, Feb 26: The Karbi Nimso Chingthur Asong (KNCA), All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA), Karbi Anglong Women Justice Forum (KAWJA) and the United Karbi Anglong Women’s Association (UKAWA) had today decided to to jointly celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2020. They are holding the event at Kala Kendra, Diphu. This was informed through a press release by the Secretary of KNCA Central Committee Merina Engheepi on behalf of all the associating groups.
“The increasing violence against women is a big challenge for the society. So, let’s Unite to fight against all forms of injustices like rape, molestation, kidnappings, murders and human trafficking, and other anti-social activities prevailing in the society that hampers the freedom and lives of women,” stated Engheepi in the press release.
The organizations have directed all their regional and branch committees to participate in the program. They have also urged upon all sections of women to participate in the International Women’s Day program for the greater interest of womenfolk. They have also appealed all sections of people- intellectuals, government and private firm employees and well wishers to cooperate in the IWD celebration to make it successful.
