DIPHU, Feb 20: In a bid to give a boost to adventure sport in the district the first edition of endurance motorsports challenge as part of 46th Karbi Anglong Youth festival under the banner “Adrenalized escapade vol.01” was held at SAI complex opposite Recreation Park, Diphu on February 2020.
The event was organized by Karbi Anglong Motor adventure club (KAMAC) in collaboration with Karbi Cultural Society .The event was organized in order to provide a platform and boost up local amateur drivers.
Goods number of National driver participated in the event and the events record the highest participants from the state level drivers since the past 8 years sources added.
After a grueling competition, Larry Mukhim (1 min 11 sec 72 nanosecond) from Shillong, Meghalaya bagged first position, Awguzo Sekhoshe (1:14:16) from Dimapur, Nagaland bagged second position and third position was bagged by Ewellson Lingdoh (1:15:12) from Shillong, Meghalaya in SUV class.
In the SUV above 1000cc category Ewellson Lingdoh (1:11:72) from Shillong, Meghalaya won the first prize. Larry Mukhim (1:12:00) from Shillong, Meghalaya bagged second, while Yeshika Yeptho (1:13:62) from Dimapur, Nagaland had to settle with the third position.
In SUV below 1000cc category Ewellson Lingdoh (1:14:60) from Shillong, Meghalaya secured first whereas the second position was achieved by Ronan Bajeley (1:15:56) from Shillong, Meghalaya and third position was won by Tomito Shohe (1:15:59) Dimapur, Nagaland.
In the Rookey category Theja Kire (2:34:69) from Nagaland was conferred and Nicon Teron (2:43:00) from Diphu Karbi Anglong received Best Local driver award.
Earlier, prior to the proceeding, KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang flagged off the event in the presence of the organizer, dignitaries and participants. Participants were extremely excited throughout the race and they really appreciated the good quality track.
