Birsingki School upgraded to class 9

BIRSINGKI, Feb 11: The long pending demand and wishes of the people of Birsingki area for upgrade of Birsingki was fulfilled today. The school has now been upgraded to class IX from this new academic session.

The new class was inaugurated today by VDC chairman Basa Kro in presence of CDC chairman Dilipsing Hanse, Amri KCS president Harlinson Ronghi, Birsingki SGB Divan Teron, Amri Sports Association president Winchester Engti and others.

School official told TDE that the new class was inaugurated after receiving formal consent from Assistant School Inspector Katharson Engti. A total of 22 students have already been enrolled while some more time was sought for admission of another 10 students, added officials.

“Many of the students are from Ulukunchi and Morten area while several students from Chinthong block are also enrolled here. We therefore, urge upon the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang and education in charge EM Jagat Sing Ingti to accept our request for another upgrade of the school to class X from next year,” concluded officials.

It may be mentioned that Birsingki school is hope and is also the only place to get education for children of local and adjoining areas.
