Staff Reporter, DIPHU, Jan 27: In an effort to raise more awareness and preparedness level, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in collaboration with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) would be conducting Karbi Anglong Emergency Management Excercise (KEMEx) from January 28 to 31, 2020 in Diphu. This was informed by Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kr. Saikia during a press conference held in DC Conference Hall in Diphu today.
Briefing media person, DC informed that the exercise programme would be conducted at Diphu Arboretum cum Craft Centre from 9:30 am onward. During the programme, different training exercise would be conducted and imparted on mass casualty handling, coordination of response based on IRS principle and managing relief operation, search and rescue, school disaster preparedness, water and sanitation, table top exercise, field drill which shall be conducted by doctors, nurses, paramedics and other experts.
A practical exercise by trainees would also performed on the concluding day as to give a glimpse of level of training been received by them during the training period.
DC Saikia said that the training programme is being organized with the aim helping civilians in order to deal with earthquakes, storms, fire, landslide and other emergency situations. He concluded his speech urging the all the public, including youths for their participation during the programme.
