KFS opposes KAF’s decision to hold 1st Karbi Film Award

DIPHU, Jan 7: The Karbi Film Society (KFS) slammed the Karbi Artistes Forum for its decision to hold the 1st Karbi Film Award stating that the award is probably not the first film award in the district as Rangsina Sarpo Film Award which was initiated by KAAC through Art & Culture Department have been organising award giving events since 2012. This was stated by president of KFS Dhaniram Tisso and secretary Dilip Bey during a press conference here this afternoon.

While addressing the media, Tisso also said that KFS is yet to be a full-fledged award and its leaders have been pressurizing the KAAC authority to conduct the award in a full-fledged manner like the state and national film awards and insisted that no organisation should hold any kind of Karbi Film Awards prior to the fulfillment of their demand.

“To sort out our problem, we have invited the president and secretary of Karbi Artistes Forum but they didn’t turn up until now. Here we take this opportunity to brief you regarding our organisation.
