KSU urge State Govt to exclude hill districts from two-child policy


Demands maximum reservation of job for locals

DIPHU, Dec 02: The Karbi Students Union (KSU) urged upon the State Government to exclude hill districts of Karbi Anglong from the two child norm policy and maximum reservation of seats for local ST (H) candidates in the appointment into the Diphu Medical College and Research Institute. This was informed by KSU general secretary Richard Ingti here this evening.

A representation by the students’ organization in demand of the two points was submitted to the state Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during his visit to the medical college here in Diphu today. The students’ organization urged upon the Health Minister to fervently look into their demand considering the need of special attention to the tribal people of the hill districts, who the organization reminded, face threat to their existence due lack of basic needs, infrastructure, employment opportunities and through other factors.
