Town Congress holds protest against BJP over various issues

DIPHU, Nov 30: Opposition Congress party continued its protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the centre over economic and other burning issues. A sit-in protest programme was organized by Diphu Town Congress Committee led by ex-EM Ashok Teron in front of the Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park here in Diphu today.

Ex-EM Ashok Teron denounced the BJP led KAAC over non-payment of salary more than 6 months to its employees following online salaries and stated that the party had utterly failed in all spheres of governance and therefore take moral responsibility for it.

During the protest, the opposition party chanted slogans against the BJP demanding fulfillment of its promises of providing jobs to youths. The party also attacked the saffron party over price rise of essential commodities that has hit common citizens of the country. Further, the Congress party also demanded implementation of Article 244 (A) of the Constitution of India and probe into land scam in the district.

The protestors while attacking the BJP on the unemployment and economic front said that present government is taking the whole country down. Further, the party also expressed their strong opposition against the State Government accusing them of trying to sell out the Jagiroad and Silchar paper mill.
