DIPHU, Nov 30: The Sunrise Academy English High School celebrated its Silver Jubilee on a grand and colourful note today.
The celebration programme which was held at its school premise began with hoisting of flag by school president Panchami Basumatary in the morning at 9 AM. This was immediately followed by lighting of candle in memory of its past members and students.
Later in the day, a open session programme was held followed by meeting of alumni and ex-teachers at 2 pm.
Later in the evening, Sunrise Academy English High School principal SP Mahato during his interaction with media said that school would continue to work on its motto of helping average students to give best results and contribute towards the progress of the society. He also expressed his gratitude towards alumni and the present students and teachers towards taking the academy to the present level.
The event was concluded with cultural night programme beginning from 6 pm during which students performed various dances and other cultural items that enthralled the crowds.
Retired DAV ex-Principal and social worker DN Mishra is the event as chief guest along with other guests including social worker HN Sharma, Diphu Municipal Board vice –chairman Mira Tissopi, advocate Sonam Swami, social worker Jorsing Bey, Kala Kendra president Mukul Baruah and Diphu Club secretary Dilip Das.
