DIPHU, Nov 27: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) EM Amarsing Tisso along with officials of the revenue department visited Jensing Tisso village as part of KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang’s direction to issue land pattas to villagers after assessment and verification. EM Tisso was accompanied by Diphu Town Committee ex-chairman Mohon Tisso, social activist Tingkreng Rongpi, and several officials of the land and revenue department.
During the day, Jensing Tisso village headmen expressed his happiness over the visit of the KAAC EM in charge of land & revenue department and told reporters that their village is one of the oldest villages in the area with over 40 families but only 10 families had been able to obtain land pattas. “No elected representative had visited our village and therefore, today’s visit is extremely important and historic in one sense and therefore, we also appreciate EM Tisso’s for coming to our village and interacting with us on land issue,” village headman said.
Out of 36 families, 19 families have been granted approval for issue of land patta during EM Tisso’s visit today, informed officials.
Meanwhile, EM Tisso told reporters that the villagers are to provide their Voter-ID and mobile phone number while submitting ‘Form V’ to the land and revenue office and with clear direction to grant approval only to those families who are physically present during official visit.
Today’s visit to the village is the commencement of KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang’s initiative and commitment to issue 1-2 lakh land patta to the poor villagers and original inhabitants spread across the hill district within December 2019.
