DIPHU, Nov 27: Karbi Anglong Right Protection Committee (KARPC) formed its unit at Men Tisso village today. The unit was formed during a meeting held at Lang ke-ik LP School.
The unit was formed following a threadbare discussion during the meeting which was chaired by KARPC president Molen Teron who was accompanied by general secretary Bristom Terang and was attended by elders and youths of the village. Immediately after its formation, the group also appointed Jaysing Tisso while, Rakesh Tisso was appointed as the general secretary of the newly formed branch. Other members who were also appointed included Amarsing Tisso (vice president), Rajen Tisso (finance secretary) and Sondon Tisso (publicity secretary).
During the meeting, the organization interacted with local villagers with special focus on burning issues like the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, Uniform Civil Code and eco-sensitive zone and elephant corridor, informed the president. Further, the organization also resolved to take up these issues and also adopt protest programmes in the coming days, KARPC president concluded.
