TUMPRENG, Nov 06: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Rohang today provided small financial assistance to the families affected by recent flood under the Bithung constituency in West Karbi Anglong here on Tuesday. The financial assistance and other relief materials were provided to the families by CEM Tuliram Ronghang who was accompanied by his wife Kache Teronpi.
Families of Phangtengphrang and Hanthor villages who have severely affected by flood were given Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 each. The families were also provided mustard seeds and potatoes to help families cope with farm crop loss due to flood. During his interaction with the villagers, CEM Ronghang informed that all of the affected families would be provide cheque of Rs. 3,800 under flood relief scheme from the government.
During his speech CEM also that the government has launched several schemes for the poor people including Atal Amrit Abhiyan Ayusman Bharat Abhiyan and Randhan Gas and his team is making all effort to reach out to all the deserving families in the district. In addition this, CEM also urged upon villagers to enter their details with the BJP local committee in order to avail PMAY house.
It may be mentioned that recent flood have left a trail of destruction in several parts of Karbi Anglong district and Phangtengphrang and Hanthor villages are one of the most affected area due to flood following incessant rains inundating many areas along the Kopili river.
