KSA submits memo against TET 2019

DEN ARONG, Nov 5: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang through the officer in charge of Dokmoka Police Station demanding immediate solution to various problems faced by the people of Karbi Anglong.

A group of students under the leadership of its adviser Sarsing Engleng, Semson Sing Ingti, Jemson Timung, Mondol Inghi and Anderson Kro walked from Dokmoka ASDC office to Dokmoka Police Station demanding immediate withdrawal of Assam TET exams 2019, to uphold the Assam Gazette extraordinary No. 149 Dispur, Friday 14th of July, 1995 and the Assam Government officer memo No. HAD-57/95/316 dated Dispur, 31st December, 1996 and to conduct special TET separately by KAAC in Karbi Anglong.

The students’ body also demanded the resignation of all KAAC leaders if they fail to uphold the powers of KAAC and the Sixth Schedule.

“It would be better for KAAC leaders to resign from their posts if they could not conduct TET and exercise the powers of KAAC,” the memorandum included.

Hundreds of students took part in the rally.
