DIPHU, Nov 04: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Karbi Anglong district unit organised a protest rally against CAB 2016 at Semson Sing Ingti Memorial Park in Diphu on Monday.
The activists condemned the BJP led central and state government for introducing the controversial bill and demanded them to withdraw it immediately.
They also asked the government to stop playing with the sentiments of indigenous people of Assam saying that Assam is no longer a dumping ground for illegal Bangladeshis on ground of religion and to stop playing vote bank policy in the name of religion.
Further, they warned the government that they will continue their agitation in Assam and the entire North Eastern region if they fail to withdraw the bill.
“ This Bill will never be accepted by the people in North Eastern region as it will destroy indigenous literature, culture, tradition, economic and education system,” AASU leaders stated.
