2 Die after Truck Hits Bike in Hidipi

Dillai, Nov 04: In a heartbreaking incident, two youths died after a TATA Di without a number plate crushed into their motorcycle at Hidipi market under Dillai Police station, reports said here today.

The youths were on a bike at Hidipi market when the vehicle rammed into them around 5:30 p.m.

The seriously injured persons were rushed to Bokajan CHC in an unconscious state and died almost immediately.

The injured youths were identified as Hemphu ingti (26) S/o Son Kathar a resident of Kania Bey village, and a student of Eastern Karbi Anglong College and Mohan Ingti (25) s/o Hemari Ingti, a resident of Moiso Kiling village.

The onlooker said that the TATA DI was carrying illegal timbers when the incident occured.

Dillai Police station O.C Ronjit Hazarika said that both the parties violated the Motor Vehicles Act as both vehicles don’t have a number plate. Apart from that, the bikers did not wear helmets.

OC further said that, most of the vehicle owners are well aware of the general rules and safety measures while driving on the roads and said that such accident occurs due to their carelessness.

“The main causes of accidents are due to human errors. Many accidents could have been avoided if the drivers are more careful and use safety measures,” OC Hazarika stated.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck is absconding at the time of report.
