DIPHU, Oct 29: LCIF NGO team won the 24th Kania Bey Day Football final match after defeating Magnet Stars team by 2-0 goals during a match held at Kania Bey Arong, Hidipi on Tuesday.
The football match was organised by Kania Bey Sports Club with a hope to uplift the younger generations of the village in the field of sports. The match started on October 27 and was participated by a total of 13 teams from in and around Hidipi area.
On the concluding day, the final match was witnessed by a host of local leaders who include SGB Dorsing Bey, GB Chandro Bey, Ex 32 Assam Rifles cadre Horensing Engti, KBSC Hidipi president Mansing Bey, secretary Kherson Rongphar, advisor Hemari Engti,Sonjoy Bey, KolomsingTimung, KBSC Hidipi founder Dhansing Timung and others.
The final match was inaugurated by lecturer of Eastern Karbi Anglong College Ramesh Kathar.
Dhansing Timung told the media that the village has been organising such event since 1995 and since then, it has become an annual meet for the whole village. He also stated that the organisers have never stopped to organise the event in spite of the problems they are facing every year with a hope to uplift the younger generations in the field of sports and also to make the villagers happy by bringing them together.
