DIPHU,Sept 22: Greater Diphu Sports Association beat Langhin Tiniali Sports Association 5-2 and won the 26th All Karbi Anglong Inter Sub- Association men’s football championship 2019 for late Kehai Timung and Kate Kropi memorial trophy at Karbi Anglong Sports Association playground, Diphu on Sunday.
Rahul Kaklary put Langhin in the lead at the 9th minute but their joy was short lived when Lalminlun found the net in the 30th minute and put GDSA back into the game. However, Rahul Kaklary scored a second goal for Langhin almost immediately. The first half ended 2-1 in favour of Langhin.
GDSA came out with more vigour in the second half and managed to equalise the scores after Roland Parbosa found the net. Both the teams were locked 2-2 at the end of scheduled time.
However, during an extra time, GDSA boys made an attacked with gusto and their efforts was paid off in a quick succession through Laldinsang Pudaite, Semson Teron and Manal Basumatary and lifted the trophy with 5-2 goals.
GDSA received the champion trophy from chief guest KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang. Meanwhile, Langhin received the runner trophy from KAAC EM and donor Mongalsing Timung during post match presentation ceremony.
Apart from teams award, individuals award were also given. Tenson Tisso(GDSA) was bagged the player of the tournament award while Nijum Basumatary(Langhin) received best goalkeeper award. GDSA lifts All KA inter sub-Association Football Championship title.
