KSA Demands Revival of Defunct Medical Sub-Centre at Tengkeralangso


DIPHU, Sept 12: The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Tengkeralangso branch committee demanded revival of Medical Sub centre at Tengkeralangso with immediate appointment of doctors and nurses and make medicines available. This was stated in a letter submitted to the Joint Director of Health Services, here in Diphu today.

According to the letter made available to local media, the students’ organization informed that the medical sub centre in the area which was established in 2016 covering 12 villages has remained defunct since a longtime and is in a deplorable condition. The KSA Tengkeralangso said that in absence of medical officers and nurses, people have been forced to Vothatlangso PHC which is 20 kilometres from their locality.

The students’ organization urged upon the Joint Director for action at the earliest for the functioning of the centre to meet the medical assistance of the people of the area.

The letter to the Joint Director of Health Services, Diphu was signed by branch president Mongal Sing Engti Kathar, Hamren District Committee president Ramsing Tokbo, secretary Satra Tisso and assistant secretary Bidya Sing Tisso.
