Army conduct awareness lecture in Hanjanglangso, free medical camp at Gohpur


DIPHU, Sept 11: Continuing with the effort to provide and promote humanitarian assistance to all sections of society, the Red Horns Division of the Indian army organized a lecture programme at Shanti Niketan English High School in Hanjanglangso on Wednesday. This was informed through a press statement by the army here today.

The lecture programme for students of the school was held on theme ‘Importance of literacy in India,’ on the occasion of the International Literacy Day. During the programme, resource person encourage students to study hard to achieve their goals through motivating and inspiring them. A quiz competition was also conducted for the students and winners were felicitated. “A motivational lecture was also conducted which included highlighting the prospects of joining the Armed Forces. The event was culminated with tea and snacks for everyone,” informed the army. Altogether 161 students participated in the lecture programme conducted inside the central lecture hall of the school, informed the army.

Meanwhile, the army also expressed their happiness over the positive responses received from the students of the school.

The Red Horns Division army also conducted a medical camp at Maranbari in Gohpur Biswanath area here today. Over 509, including 200, 158 women and 151 children turned up at the camp which began at 8 am to get medical checkup today. During the checkup, free medicines were provided to patients after consultation by army and civil doctors led by unit medical officers and doctors of BPHC, Biswanath including nurse assistants and pharmacists.
