DIPHU, Sept, 02: The Karbi Students Association (KSA) Hamren District Committee in a press statement strongly condemned the state government for their decision to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examinations for lower primary and upper primary level, saying that it is the state government’s attempt to intervene into Karbi Anglong TET examinations. This was informed in a press statement issued by its president Bishnu Teron here today.
The students’ body sharply reacted to the TET examination advertisement and strongly condemned the government of Assam for their frequent attempt to intervene into Karbi Anglong TET.
“We are not against TET, we also honored the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India’s order. However, we don’t want the state government to interfere in our district’s TET examination. It may be mentioned that the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council is blessed with a legislative and executive power over Elementary Education which was an inherent subject. Therefore, let the KAAC authority conduct Karbi Anglong Special TET with full spirit of Sixth Schedule within the purview of KAAC without any interference from the state government,” the press statement said.
The KSA further said that it never inclined to the State government’s policy but rather oppose tooth and nail and threatened that they might take up a rigorous movement if the circumstance still persists”.
