NH compensation controversy


Will approach NHAI and High Court, warns KSA

DIPHU, Aug 23: Controversy over compensation for acquisition of land for national highway refuse to die with Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) demanding inquiry into allegation of massive corruption by officials of land revenue department under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

KSA president Simeon Rongphar being overwhelmed by the threatening illegalities that took place within the hearts of Diphu, questioned the local authority and the saffron party in general as well KAAC in particular. The KSA president during his address to the media stated that several numbers of individuals are taking advantage from this national highway project by making pattas in their names to claim ownership of land in order to get compensation from NHAI while depriving many genuine land owners.

KSA also attacked the BJP government stating that they have utterly failed to stop corruption as promised and repeatedly reiterated in all speeches and meetings. The students’ organization has demanded for immediate enquiry into the issue and warned that they would approach NHAI and High Court on the matter if their demand for enquiry into the matter is not met.
