Jengkha, AUG 16: Amit Tamang, a 13 year old boy from a remote Nepali village in Jengkha, West karbi Anglong district was selected for further training in Wushu by the Sports Authority of India on August 1, 2019 reports said here today.
According to report, Tamang is a very talented and hardworking kid and bagged a silver medal in Wushu Championship held at Maligaon Indoor Stadium, Guwahati from July 12-14, 2019.
The boy was born and brought up in small village and took initial training under local master Prodeep Ronghang at Jengkha Wushu Club.
During the selection camp, Amit was successful in proving his wushu skills and the officials immediately selected him for further training. Currently he is undergoing training under SAI at Kathalguri, Kokrajhar, BTC.
Prodeep Ronghang formar coach of Amit tamang was very thrilled with the news and said that the rare achievement of a village boy will create tremendous joy and enthusiasm among wushu lovers across the nation.
Amit Tamang is the son of Raj Kumar Tamang and Lalita Tamang and is a student of class IX.
