DIPHU, July 29
The Badminton coaching camp organized by Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) since July 6 formally concluded on July 28 at KASA indoor stadium.
Trainees include 71 school children, 18 college students and 46 adults. On the concluding day, a competition was held among participants dividing them into groups. In Team A category, Aser Rongpi and Dhouba Jioty Dash were the champions while Akhir Ingtipi and Sarkangthim Tokbi were the runners-up. In Team B category, Arzeem Ahmed and Bipra Jut Majumdar were the champions while Archo Tissopi and Rasok Teron were the runners up. In Team C category, Kedalo Rengma and Lar-im Rongpharpi were the champions while Arihant Jain and Tihang Tissopi were the runners-up. In the adult category, Dr. Jacqueline Teronpi and Jubina Beypi were the champions while Serdihun Ronghangpi and Nelima Ronghangpi were runners up respectively.
During the closing ceremony, KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang attended as chief guest. He was accompanied by several dignitaries who include deputy chairman Ritesh Enghi, KASA secretary Pankaj Teron, MAC Richard Tokbi and social worker Longsing Tokbi. CEM gave away the prizes to the winners and runners’ up. The winners received an amount of Rs. 2000 while the runners’ up teams received an amount of Rs. 1000 each along with trophy and certificate.
