Congress and HSDC forge alliance against BJP for 2019 Lok Sabha election



DOLAMARA, April 12: In a significant development that may change the course of the politics of hill districts of Assam, regional party Congress and HSDC forge an alliance to fight the BJP together in the 2019 Lok Sabha election to be held on Thursday.

The alliance was officially announced during a mass rally at Dolamara Duarbagori MAC constituency. The rally commenced with a prayer by Nilip Block Mandal Congress president Rajen Ingti and a meeting was presided over by DMCC President Rensing Teron. Purpose of the meeting and introduction and welcoming of invited guest delivered by DMCC general secretary Wesly Langne. Present at the meeting include INC candidate Biren Sing Ingti, Surjya Rongphar, Suren Singnar, APCC Secretary Semson Ingti, District Mahila Congress Committee president Kasang Terangpi, KADCC General Secretary i/c Bokajan Khorsing Singnar,  Joysing Ingti, ex-MAC  Raton Engti, Diphu Town Committee ex-chairman Daniel Ingti and many ex-BJP supporters.

During the meeting HSDC leaders Tarjen Terang expressed their intent to support the Congress and heavily slammed BJP government over CAB and uniform civil code. Singnar also attacked the ASDC party for their affinity with the BJP and masking themselves as regional party. Ex-MAC Raton Engti in his speech expressed his immense disappointment and regretted his past decision for leaving Congress. He stated that Congress will be the only way to save Karbi Anglong from Bangladeshis.

While speaking at the massive gathering, sitting MP and INC candidate Biren Sing Ingti said that he  will fight for the people and stands against all odds. The INC candidate also mentioned about road work charging KAAC CEM for constructing only 3 kilometres of road Dolamara Forest Range up to stones quarry, which he termed as incomplete and only meant to serve the purpose of transporting boulders and chips to Marwaris. In addition to this, he also charged the present KAAC leaders for not being able to do real change and development in the hill districts.

It may be mentioned that along with ex EM KAAC Raton Ingti, over seven families from the BJP officially joined Congress today.
