Diphu Treasury Officer suspended


DIPHU, April 10: Diphu Treasury Officer Amarendra Sharma was suspended from his duty on charges of anomalies by the Government of Assam, Finance Department as per the order of the Governor of Assam on April 10.

The press statement stated that the Governor of Assam having been satisfied with facts and circumstances and pending withdrawal of Departmental Proceedings and in exercise of power conferred under Rule 6 (1) of the Assam Service Rules 1964 due to which Amarendra Sarma is placed under suspension.

Leading to the suspension notice, the press statement also stated that enquiry was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong, Diphu through Additional Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong Diphu and Assistant Commissioner, Diphu on the complaint received against Amarendra Sarma and his staffs.

The statement further mentioned that during the suspension period Sarma, his headquarter is been fixed at Nagoan and he is allowed to draw subsistence allowances as admissible provision of Rule 53 (ii) a of the FRs and SRs subject to production of non employment certificate under sub Rule (2) of F.R 53.
