State and Local Orgs Express Strong Resentment over RSS Office in Bokajan


KAAC would be Held Responsible if any Situation Arise, warns Orgs

DIPHU, Mar 14: Local and state organizations have expressed their strong resentment against the setting up of Hindu right-wing organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) branch office at Rintithe Rongmarjong in Bokajan here on Wednesday.

This was expressed by Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Bokajan district and regional committee, Students’ and Youth Council (SYC) and Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chhatra Parishad (AJYCP) Karbi Anglong District Committee through a press release issued on Wednesday.

In its press note the KSA, SYC and AJYCP Karbi Anglong District Committee has openly denounced the foundation laying event of the proposed RSS office inside Bokajan pointing out that the agenda of RSS is Hindu nationalism for a Hindu rashtra (nation). The organizations reminded the people that India is a democratic country reaffirming its preamble that the people have resolved to constitute India into a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic and repulic nation and therefore, the agenda of the RSS is clearly and openly stand against the Indian Constitution.

Further the organizations pointed out that the Karnataka RSS groups had attacked a church in May, 2018, which, the organization charged, is only a single instance of its anti-secular activities. In addition to this, the KSA said that they can never approve setting ip of Madrassa or RSS branch terming that there is difference between the two as both are radical in agenda and religious based entity.

While expressing their vehement protest against setting up of RSS unit, the organizations also expressed their apprehension of clash or conflict in Bokajan in the future and concluded their joint press statement with a stern warning to the present BJP led Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) party that should any situation arise they would solely be held responsible for it.
