DIPHU, Mar 06: Diphu Poetry Festival will once again shine a spotlight on the district’s literary scene for the second time on March 20 & 21, 2019 at Arboretum Art & Craft Centre, Matipung, Diphu. This was informed by chairman of Jambili Literary Foundation (JLF) Welsing Hanse, secretary On Teron and media secretary Helvellyn Timungpi in a press statement during a press conference called by the literary organization at Diphu Press Club today.
The event will be organized by JLF and will be powered by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). The event will include multi lingual poets’ meet, storytelling, poetry competition, women writers meet, interaction with nationally acclaimed writers, book release, workshop on poetry, interaction with top intellectuals and journalists, young Karbi writers meet, workshop on poetry, on spot poem competition and open poem recitation session.
Strong literature personalities who include Padmashree awardee Prof. Rongbong Terang, Pro Vice Chancellor, Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) Swasish Biswas, assistant professor, AUDC Dr. Rabindra Teron, eminent writers who include Sikari Tisso, Sar-et Hanse, Chitra Kr. Bey, Sing Kro, Khorsing Ingti, Khoyasing Hanse, Deben Timung, CKS director Dharamsing Teron, Karon Hansepi, Rakhee Rongchitimpi, Khagen Ingti, Lila D. Teron, Bhovo Prasad Deori, Manju Hazarika, Deepali Amphi, Atanu Dey, Hangmiji Hanse and others are expected to attend the event.
Apart from eminent writers from the district, renowned poet from Arunachal Pradesh Mrs. Jamuna Bini and Sahitya Akademi awardee Dr. Homen Borgohain will also attend the event as panelists. KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang has consented to attend the event as chief guest. Other KAAC leaders who include EMs Rupsing Teron, Amarsing Tisso and Jagatsing Ingti were also invited to attend the mega event.
