DIPHU, Feb 13: Continuing with the effort to reach out to the under privileged populace in rural area, a free medical checkup and camp was organized by the army troops deployed in Karbi Anglong at Home for Destitute and Vagrant Children School & Hostel, Dillaji, Diphu today. This was informed by army source here this evening.
Informing this, source said that the free medical camp was primarily organized for the children of the orphanage at Dillaji, during which children were provided with free health checkup and consultation besides free medicines. During the day, the army also educated the children about safe drinking water practices, hygiene and sanitation, preventive measures for communicable diseases like dengue and malaria besides informing them about precautions to be taken against the common diseases. A total of 45 children and 08 School staff participated in the event. Before the culmination of the event, light refreshments were also served amongst all present, informed the army.
The free medical camp concluded successfully with much appreciation from the school staff and children while urging them to continue with the noble programme in future as well.
