DOLAMARA, Feb 10: Despite tall claims of development being ushered by the present government, Langkangram LP School at Angjok Tokbi village under Dolamara police station inside east Karbi Anglong district is utterly grim condition. The headmaster has not been seen at school since for the past four months.
According to locals, the headmaster has not been seen for the past four months since Gunotsav assessment programme were held. When one villager asked him to perform his regular duties sincerely, the headmaster bluntly told him that he had appointed one person from the village to take the class, villager told reporter.
Further, local resident told reporter that the person the headmaster had supposedly appointed, is not qualified as that person is only about to appear his HSLC examination this year. “More shocking is entire situation is that she along with the president were told to conduct the last examination and to check the paper as well, and only few students were taken admission till now,” local resident added. Teacher of the said school was changed twice within a year.
The headmaster is not only playing with lives and career of the students but is preventing the people and area from progressing and adding and aggravating the misery of the people of the area, local stated. Several people in the area also told reporter that such situations have also been witnessed in several other schools under the Rongmongve Block.
Local villagers have appealed the concerned authority of the concerned department under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) for spot visit to get acquainted with the sorry state of affairs of the school for immediate action and solution to genuine problems faced by students and the people of the area.
