39th A’chik Catholic Sabha Concluded, Denu Cheran Sangma Ordained as Priest


DONKAMUKAM, Jan 21: Brother Denu Cheran Sangma, s/o Pramode Rema and mother Bijon Cheran Sangma of Satgaon, West Karbi Anglong was ordained as Priest at 39th A’chik (Garo) Catholic Sabha held at Mary Help of Christians Church, Satgaon Parish, West Karbi Anglong at Sabha held from 17th to 21st January, 2019 by Rt Rev Bishop Paul Mattekat DD Bishop of Diphu, in presence of Rev Fr Micheal Elango Vicar General Diocese of Bongaigaon and infront of twenty priests and over two dozens of Sisters. Over six thousands of believers and even non Christians attended the event.

“We have good number of believers here but number of priests as per requirement is less and that’s why in some occasion we missed to serve the Holy Supper for the believers” Bishop said.

“Let’s continue praying so that more people come to become Priest,” Bishop finally said.

It may be mentioned that on the first day, the Sabha was inaugurated by Rt Rev Bishop Paul Ponen Kobi Marak, Bishop of Mymensingh Diocese (Bangladesh) in presence of Rev Fr Tarun Bolwari, Rev Fr Lukas Marak, Rev Fr Gabriel Momin and many others. Later on today the thanksgiving mass was served by newly ordained Fr Denu Cheran in front of Vice Provincial of Guwahati Province Rev Fr Joseph Teron.
