NCHAC polls: BJP release manifesto, promise for all round development in the district

HAFLONG, Jan 13: With just 6 days left for the elections to the 12th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today released its election manifesto promising to carry forward its momentum of development for all around development of the district and better life of its inhabitants.

BJP Dima Hasao Committees vice president and media convenor Biswajit Chakraborty released the manifesto in a function held at Atal Bihari Bhawan (BJP office) here in presence of President i/c Bonani Kemprai and other senior leaders of the party.

The manifesto also said the BJP are determined and committed to good and fair governance, proper road and communication infrastructure connecting to all villages of the district, health care, to established seats of learning under technical education like veterinary and agricultural universities within the district

The manifesto further stated for provision to protect forest wealth and mandate punishment to offender of Wild Life Act., to encourage fish cultivation by creating fisheries and provide incentives to intending fish farmers, to construct proper sewage system in all four town committees of the district i.e Haflong, Maibang, Umrongso and Mahur, to provide skill development and vocational training to the intending youths and provide incentives to the willing with full ventures which will create independent employment avenues and to introduce schemes for beautification of Haflong, Maibang and Umrongso town to boost tourism in the district.

In the manifesto, the party also gives priority to improve road connectivity in the hill district with neighboring districts of Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya.

It also emphasized to take up a long term scheme to provide safe drinking water to the dwellers of Haflong and its adjoining areas.
