DIPHU, Jan 11: The Annual Conference of National Federation for New State (NFNS) was held at Kumarakata, Baksa, BTAD on January 8 & 9 January 2019, sources informed.
Delegation Team from Joint Action Committee Autonomous State (JACAS), Karbi Anglong like Khorsing Teron, Chairman, JACAS and Stalyn Ingti, Vice Chairman, JACAS has also attended in the conference.
During the conference various issues pertaining to creation of New States, Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, etc. were discussed. The NFNS made a resolution to send a strong message to the Centre for their indifferent attitude towards the indigenous people.
The delegation team of JACAS also attended the annual general conference of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU). The team had a bilateral talk with the leaders of Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), an ally of Tripura government on the last day.
It can be mentioned that the NFNS has called upon all political parties, regional as well as national, to engage with the idea of creation of new states in the country keeping in mind the letter and spirit of Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution of India. The NFNS resolves to continue its united movement and demand for creation of new states in a democratic and non-violent manner and in accordance with the provisions of Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitution of India.
