Dr. Mongve Rongpi’s Leave from HSDC has no Effect: Engleng

DIPHU, Jan 06: Few days after Hills State Demand Council (HSDC) president Dr. Mongve Rongpi formally joined the Congress (I) party along with former HSDC secretary Dr. M. Kro in a function held at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati, its general secretary Laichan Engleng clarified that Dr. Mongve Rongpi’s exit from the party will not affect the party’s strength and its commitment towards the people. This was stated before Town Committee elections in Karbi Anglong which is schedule to be held on January 08, 2019.

Engleng had clarified the media that Dr. Mongve Rongpi and ally joining the Congress party is not a big problem as he officially resigned from his post prior to that.

The party clarify that Dr. Mongve Rongpi did not join the Congress party as HSDC president as mentioned and telecast by some print and electronic media. But the fact is that Dr. Mongve Rongpi has resigned from the post of HSDC president citing his personal problems. He left the party in October, 2018.

Engleng has appealed to the voters of nine town committees in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts to extend their support to HSDC candidates and defeat the “fascist” BJP and to bring a change.
