Rongsamphri Villagers Felicitate Dr. Longkiri Timung


Urge Upcoming Youths for Hard Work and Patience for Achieving Goals

DIPHU, Nov 05: Dr. Longkiri Timung, s/o Lumjong Timung and Sangpi Basa Terangpi, a resident of Rongsamphri, Ward no. 3, Diphu, who was recently Ph.D. by Assam University, was felicitated by village for his brilliant academic achievement on Sunday.

Dr. Longkiri Timung was felicitated at a simple event organized by Rongsamphri Rongker Amei in recognition of his academic feat which had brought laurel to the entire village, AUDC as well as to the people of Karbi Anglong.

While speaking at the event, Dr. Timung expressed his gratefulness to the all the leaders and people of his village for organizing the event. Sharing his thoughts and experiences about his academic journey Dr. Timung said that merely having the wishes of passing exams is never enough but trying harder, giving best and patience with sincere passion is very important for achieving goals and excellence in any field including academic.

Further Dr. Timung also gave tips and exchanged ideas and advice with the youth of the village who were present at the felicitation event.

In addition to this, meritorious HSLC students of the village were also felicitated at the same event to encourage students towards quality education. The event was attended by village headman and several villagers including elderly men, women and young children of the village.

Speaking about the event, member the organizer expressed their immense happiness stating that his achievement was indeed a matter of great pride and honour for the people of the village stating that his academic achievement would serve as an example for the village and whole of Karbi Anglong.

It may be mentioned that Dr. Longkiri Timung was recently awarded Ph.D. for his work the subject ‘Religion & Ecology: A study on the Karbis of Assam, India,’ from Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC).
