LDRB Loan Payment to 35 JLG Members in Diphu

DIPHU, Oct 09: The Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank (LDRB) of Hills Medical College Branch organized loan programme under Stree Shakti for JLG (Joint Liberality Group) for female vendor at their bank premises on Tuesday.

LRDB Chairman, Debojyoti Dutta said in the distribution programme that LDRB is the very own bank of peoples of three hills districts. “We need to give more policy for self-employment in the region. The region is fertile for which policy for agriculture is very much profitable for the peoples. This time the bank has taken initiative like ‘Green Banking’ which every account holder need to plant trees for green environment in the district. In this regard, a sapling will be distributed to every account holder to plant in their surroundings,” said Dutta.

Stree Shakti policy is given only to JLG female vendor across the districts for making their capital in their business. The loan amounting of Rs.10, 000/- is given to each member and they need to repay it with Rs.250/- every fortnightly. They need to return the amount within two years, and the interest will be 17%. The debtor can return their debt at their respective bank and also can give to the collectors. Every fortnightly, the collectors will came to every vendors to collect the debt of Rs.250/- If the debtor can return their loan within the stimulate period of time can avail new loan,” explained Dutta.

During loan disbursement programme, the Passbook along with sapling were given to every JLG members by LDRB Chairman in presence of Hills Medical College Branch manager D.N. Medhi, Head Office staff Anil Chandra Deka and others.
