DIPHU, Oct 08: The Karbi Students’ & Youth Council (KSYC) strongly condemned and has expressed their deep concern over the extortion attempt made on the Sixth Schedule Implementation Committee (SSIC) adviser JI Kathar on September 28, 2018 and the latest attack on ex-DHD C-in-C Pranab Nunisa. This was expressed in a press statement issued by KSYC publicity secretary Johnson Rongpi here this evening.
In its press statement the organisation expressed immense disappointment over the law and order situation following the extortion call made on SSIC adviser, who the organisation said is a very patriotic person and is the one taking the burden and responsibility of strengthening the movement for implementation of the Sixth Schedule Implementation in the state.
“KSYC is aware of the situation that Parliamentary election is approaching so some unfavourable situation may create by the third forces or anti-social element which had experienced in the past,” the organisation said.
Further the KSYC expressed their feeling that the recently ambush on ex-DHD C-in-C Pranab Nunisa, could also be an attempt to create communal violence to destroy the prevailing peace and harmony in the district.
The organisation concluded their press release urging the authority to seriously look into the matter and find out culprits involved in illegal activities in the interest of all people of the whole district as a whole.
