11th Inter District under 17 Girls Football Championship 2018 kicks off


Diphu, Sept 13: Karbi Anglong CEM who is also the president of KASA on Friday ceremonially inaugurated the 11th  Inter District under 17 Girls Football Championship 2018 under the banner of Assam Football Association (AFA) at Langhin Goroi Mari Stadium in Karbi Anglong in presence of local MAC and EM KAAC Tarendra Brahma, EM Amarsing Tisso, EM Kache Rongpipi, MAC Ramsing Timung, Assam Football Association  general secretary Ankur Dutta, KASA general secretary Pankaj Teron , District Sports Officer Rolipson Ronghang, Hemendranath Brahma  and others.

During the inauguration ceremony Ronghang said, “considering the huge number of football talents in the district, the State Government is starting this championship so that the youngsters get the opportunity to show their potentiality as forms of competitive physical activity played by the people through casual or organized participation. It helps everyone to improve and maintain physical ability and skills. It is a way of entertainment to the participants. Sports are generally played as a contest between two competitive sides with attempt to exceed other. Sports are really an important activity for everyone especially for kids and youths as it keeps body healthy and fit and also sport teaches us to tackle with other challenges of life as well as to survive in a competitive society,”.

Earlier during the day, CEM also unveiled foundation stone for construction of auditorium hall and open stage with gallery at an estimated amount of Rs. 10 Crores under Finance Minister Package at Langhin Goroi Mari playground.

Later, in the opening match played between host Karbi Anglong and Morigaon, visitor lost 1-2 against the host after a keen contest which saw both teams attempted for winning the game.

Playing the inaugural match today, the host team was pushed to the task by the visitor team Morigaon in front of huge spectators.
