BEC raises 1.57 thousands for Kerala flood relief


DIPHU, Sep 7: Believers Eastern Church (BEC) Dioceses of Diphu & Satgaon has organized fund raising campaign in different places of Karbi Anglong for the people affected by devastating floods in Kerala.

Led by vicar general of Diphu Diocese Rev. Fr. Namphurei Khumba and mission diocese secretary of Satgaon Rev. Fr. Thanghao Dimngel, all the Believers Eastern Church workers, staffs, seminary students, children from Bridge of Hope and St. Johannes school took part in the campaign by visiting various shops, vendors and towns holding placards and banners with a message that read “An appeal for Kerala flood relief”.

“The two dioceses have raised a total of Rs. 1, 57,000 (one lakh fifty seven thousand) and the funds will be sent for the rehabilitation of the people affected by flood. The Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Diphu and Satgaon has immensely expressed gratitude to each and every persons of Diphu, Dokmoka, Bakalia, Langhin, etc. and its vicinity for generously contributing for this noble cause in support of this campaign,” the press statement concluded.
