66 candidates turn out on the first day
DIPHU, Aug 8: On spot free admission provided by IGNOU to Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes (SC) has been extended up to August 16, authority said here on Wednesday.
IGNOU decided to provide the facility to ST/SC students who could not continue their studies due to lack of finance and time and admission procedure has started today.
Courses offered in the programme include BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BLIS and diploma courses include DCE, PGDEMA, PGDRD, DTS, DNHE, PGDUPDL, PGDESD and DECE.
Mention can be made that more than 66 learners turned out to take admission in different programmes on the first day of admission held at IGNOU Diphu Study Centre, Diphu Government College from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm. IGNOU authority also informed that free admission facility is extended up to August 16 and interested persons can take admission from the centre during office hours from 10:00 AM to 1:00 pm.
In today’s programme, a total of 47 candidates took admission in BA course, 3 in B.Com, 1 each in B.Sc and BLIS. In Diploma courses, 1 person took admission in DCE, 3 in PGDEMA, 3 in PGDRD, 1 in DTS, 2 in DNHE, 2 in PGDUPDL and 1 each in PGDESD and DECE.
Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Dr. Md. Baniyamuddin, and Semi Professional Assistant (SPA) Maheswar Narzary were present during the whole session today.
