Forest IB Inaugurated at Jatinga, Stadium Foundation Stone Laid at Haflong

HALFONG, Jun 12: On his maiden visit the Hills Area Development minister Sum Ronghang today inaugurated a Forest IB at Jatinga and also laid the foundation stone of the modern stadium to be built at Haflong District Sports Association (DSA) ground.

On the day “Disha Pragaman- Progressing Toward Development” a program on two years completion of CEM Debolal Gorlosa led N.C Hills Autonomous Council was organized at District library auditorium, Haflong.

The program was graced by Dr. Numal Momin MLA Bokajan LAC and Jayram Engleng, MLA Howraghat LAC, Kishore Nath MLA, Borkhola, LAC as well as local MLA B.B Hagjer, Debolal Garlosa, Chief Executive Member, N.C.Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) KAAC MAC Lunsing Teron, Ranu Langthasa Chairperson, NCHAC, Dima Hasao Suptd of Police Prasanta Saikia and all EMs.

During the programs three nos of ASHA workers, headmasters of six nos of schools of the district that secure 100% pass in the recent HSLC exam, top ten successful candidates of HSLC and top three sucessful student each streams of HSSLC were felicitated with a trophy and certificate of appreciation. Pranab Langthasa athlete of Dima Hasao district who recently clinched 1stin NAC 2018 in Philippines for body building was also felicitated with certificate and cash of Rs. fifty thousand.

Addressing the program CEM Debolal Gorlosa said that during the two years of his ruling, the Council has taken many step for the development for the district. Before the annual income of the council was 12 crores and now it has now rises to 37 crores after signing with the APGL for Lonkhu power project. He also said that after completion of the project 80% of the job will be provided for the district. He also urged for reassessment of unrecorded land acquired by NEEPCO. Talking on salary issue faced by the employees of the normal sector of the council, he said that his government is working on it in a priority manner and is confident that the salary issue will be permanently solved within two years approximately.

Addressing the public gathering in Maibang Circuit House yesterday he announced that more than five guest house and Inspection Bungalow in Maibang will be constructed before 15th August which will benefit tourist, government official, public in staying as there is much lack of hotels in Maibang.

Speaking on the occasion HAD Minister in his first visit in the district after holding the post of minister in the Assam cabinet appreciated the people of Dima Hasao for the warm welcome. He also stressed on the development of tourism in the district. He also appealed to all BJP workers to work hard for the upcoming NCHAC election. The minister also condemned the incident of mob lynching of two youths Nilotpal Das and Abhijit Nath and said that it was unfortunate incident commit by some miscreants, he also that said government will soon bring the persons involved in custody. He lastly said that he will propose a grant-in-aid revenue under the Article 275 (1) for the development of the hill district for this he urged all the people of both Dima Hasao & Karbi Anglong (East & West) to cooperate with him. He further motivated that all endeavors taken for the council’s development will have full support from him as the Minister of HAD.

A special edition of ‘Dima Hasao Bubli’ published by DIPR highlighting the various works implemented during the past two years by the NCHAC was also released in the program.

The programme also condoled the killing of two innocent youth in mob lynch of Kathilangso in Karbi Anglong.
