DIPHU, May 22: The Healing Hearts Project in association with by Integrated Mountain Initiative (IMI) and Zero Waste Himalaya (ZWH) will organized a cleanliness drive in Diphu Town on May 26, 2018 with the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’

They are looking for concern individuals, NGOs, Schools, Colleges and likeminded people to join in the Movement of Beating Plastic Pollution. The clean-up programme will held between 8:00-1:00 pm while from 2:00-4:00 pm there will be waste audit programme.

It can be mentioned that the Himalayan cleanup is initiated by Integrated Mountain Initiative and Zero Waste Himalaya, platform of 12 mountain states and hill districts in the Indian Himalayan Region advocating for sustainable mountain policies is anchoring The Himalayan Cleanup under the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ across the Indian Himalayan Region.

Collecting of waste, Segregation, and analysis of the waste collected, volume analysis, brand audit, disposing recyclable waste to scrap dealers and finally disposing of the ultimate discards will be the exercise that the volunteers would be doing on May 26.

“The brand analysis will help us to get valuable data which can help us influence policies related to Waste. The location of the cleanup in Diphu, Karbi Anglong is Diphu Railway Station and Diphu Civil Hospital,” informed Sabin Rongpipi.
