3 boys from Karbi Anglong walk to Delhi

DIPHU, May 15: Three boys namely Bishal Rajbongshi, Vishal Singh and Biswajit Bordoloi from Donsuri, Karbi Anglong have left New Delhi on foot on May 5, 2018 with an Indian tied in each bag and after walking for 9 (nine) days reached Siliguri, West Bengal sources said.

They will be walking more than 2,000 kms from Donsuri to New Delhi to bring awareness on ‘pollution’. Although environmental pollution can be caused by natural events such as forest fires and active volcanoes, use of the word ‘pollution’ generally implies that the contaminants have an anthropogenic source—that is, a source created by human activities.

While speaking to media, they are going to submit a memorandum to Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for necessary steps to check pollution in the country. Pollution was not a serious problem as long as there was enough space available for each individual or group. However, with the establishment of permanent settlements by great numbers of people, pollution became a problem, and it has remained one ever since.
