Two Home Guard Personnel Arrest for Issuing Fake Training Certificate

HAFLONG, May 9: In a major breakthrough into the case of fake home guard training certificate as reported earlier, today altogether eleven persons were taken in to custody for availing certificate without going through training by Dima Hasao police. The police also arrest main kingpin of the entire racket Bitupon Bora and Ranjit Kanwar (both Assam Home Guard) for their involvement in providing the fake certificate to the innocent youths in exchange of money.

Speaking to our correspondent Dima Hasao, Addl. Superintendent of Police, Pusparaj Singh said that the arrest was made on the basis of confessional statement of four home guards who had produced their certificates to the District Commandant of Home Guards in Dima Hasao.

Suspecting the validity of the certificates, the district commandant of home guards R.A Khan immediately informed the Haflong Police Station and wrote to the concerned authority on the verification of those certificates and later arrested the duo after the certificates were found forged. He also said that both the constable were taken into custody and will be produced before the court today along with the innocent youths. Singh also added that the printing press involved in printing fake certificate is also exposed by the accused and all the victimized eleven youths belongs to Diyungmukh area.
