Suroj Barman, HAFLONG, April 26: “HINDLABS” laboratory under Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services was formally inaugurated today at Haflong Civil Hospital, Haflong by Secretary to the N.C Hills Autonomously Council Mriganjoy Thaosen in presence of Jt. Director of Health Service, Dima Hasao Dr. Dipali Barman, Superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital Dr. Kalpana Kemprai, doctors and staffs of Health Service.
Speaking to media persons Dr. Kemprai said that the laboratory services will provide fifty types of different tests such as hemoglobin estimation, blood urea, HIV rapid test, Malaria rapid test to mention few will be available free of cost to all irrespective of Above the Poverty Line (APL) or Below the Poverty Line (BPL) status citizens. She also added that the scheme will facilitate best possible diagnosis to the poor and the modern devices put into service will help in improving health care service in the district. The center will also cater the needs of people living in interiors parts of the district where the concerned PHC will collect the sample of a patient and send to the centre and after diagnosis the reports will be send to the concerned PHC for needful.
Mention be made here that free CT Scan service, X- Ray service and Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) was inaugurated remotely in the district by the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal through live video streaming at Regional Diagnostic Centre, Haflong Civil hospital under the Chief Minister Free Diagnostic Services last year.
