DIPHU, Mar 9: The news which gone viral in social media on KAAC to conduct Special Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) for Elementary and Secondary Education for both the Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong district on before March 31, 2018, a team of media met KAAC EM i/c Higher Education, Jagatsing Engti at KAAC Secretariat to get the authentic information on Friday evening.
Engti while replying on the query, he said that in order to conduct special TET examination for Karbi Anglong, the ground work is in progress and the examination will be held and conducted as per the guidance of State Government. The State Government will prepare the questions paper and correction of answer script will also be done by them. Required criteria for STET will be Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El. Ed) for Elementary Education and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) for Secondary Education level. “KAAC could not conduct purely independent TET examination in the districts as the Council has no fund to pay salary to all teachers in Elementary and Secondary Education. The KAAC is exercising the power as just conducting authority of the examination but all the procedure will be followed as per the guidelines provided by the State Government and the date for conducting the STET is yet to be fixed,” added Engti.
