Villagers of Chucha Teron Urge Authority for Immediate Completion of Construction Work

DIPHU, Feb 28: Villagers of Chucha Teron village under the Duar Amla constituency have expressed deep resentment and shock over the non-completion of waiting shed at the place where Rongker is held. This was informed by our source here today.

According to villagers, the construction of waiting shed at the Rongker ground was sanctioned and began in the year 2013-14 however, to disappointment of the villagers the construction work was then abandoned.

Local told our source that construction materials like rod, bricks, sand, stone chips and cement were already brought for construction but cannot be used now since work was stopped.

According to SO Bimol Timung, around Rs. 5 lakhs were sanctioned for the construction but the work was stopped when an issue over the site of construction came up. “Till date not even a rupee was drawn for the said work,” Timung informed.

Meanwhile, elderly villager said, “Five years has already gone by and the villagers are expecting for the completion of waiting shed and therefore, we urged the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) for immediate intervention for the completion of the waiting shed for people of our village.”
