Diphu, Nov 3: Jirikindeng SA downed Bokajan SA by 6-1 to enter the final of the ongoing Inter Sub Association Men Football Championship played at Tumpreng playground on Friday.
Jirikindeng SA capitalized the set pieces that favoured them; they would have netted the more goals, even to the extent of taking the lead. However, Bakajan SA failing to deliver the set pieces and the lack of scoring touches kept them behind the defending champs all throughout the match.
As compared to the first half, the second half witnessed the better from both the teams who exhibited quality and competitive football.
Entering the final minutes of the match, Bokajan SA gave their all to find the equalizer, but the strong defense line up of Jirikindeng SA kept frustrating them. Jirikindeng SA forward players made some swift penetrations against the rival’s defense, but missed their chances.
Meanwhile, Bokajan SA also kept their momentum going with continuous attacks. A fine attempt from the left corner almost gave Bokajan SA the second goal, but the custodian of Jirikindeng SA was quick to respond.
They will play against the winner of the second semifinal match between GDSA and Langhin SA on Wednesday at 2 pm.
