Duar Bagori MAC Tokbi Meet Flood Affected Families, Distribute Relief Materials


Diphu, Jul 12: Along with several places in the state, flood situation in at several places in Karbi Anglong remains unchanged as rains continues to pour in erratic days affecting lives and properties of the people in different areas. This was informed by our source here today.

The 26-Duar Bagori MAC Richard Tokbi accompanied by social worker Hun Phangcho and other colleagues today visited Sarmen Singnar and Holiram Engleng village and met the villagers to acquaint with problems of people of the area and current situation. Duar Bagori MAC Tokbi met and interacted with the families who had been forced to live in relief camps since their village submerged under water.

More than 23 families were affected by the flood and they are now living in the relief camps set up at Baguri L.P. School. Later after interacting with the people at the camp MAC Tokbi distributed relief materials to the affected families of the two villages.

While expressing his concern over the flood situation, MAC Tokbi also promised to take up the matter at the higher level to be able to do the needful for the affected families, source informed.

Though several places in the districted have been flooded yet it is still unclear as to the number of families and villages been affected by it.
