Diphu, Jun 9: The Karbi Unemployed Youth Association (KUYA) Technical and Non-Technical appeals the people of Karbi Anglong to have free and fair KAAC election without any disturbances in the region to be held on June 17, 2017. This was stated in a press communiqués issued by Bikram Timung, president KUYA (TNT) on Friday.
Timung stated that wooing the voters through money, muscles power and threatening should not be tolerated. “Time has come to consider hundred times before casting our votes. We should cast our votes to those candidates who are determined, visionary and aspirant leader who can address the issues of the poor and needy people in the district. We should not see the party but individual commitment of the candidate to work for the indigenous people,” said Timung.
Further he stated that this election is not a child’s play and the electorates have great responsibility. We should elect such a candidate who can really become a public’s servant not a public boss. We also need to see the moral conduct of the candidates, their commitment for the society and who can be a saviour for the Karbi tribe.
“In spite of hectic schedule, we appeal the people of Karbi Anglong to listen to their conscience before casting their valuable votes on June 17, 2017 as it can decide the bright or bleak future of the Karbis living in the district,” said Timung.
