Correspondent; Kheroni, Jun 7: The Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) has also seen making all efforts to reach out to voters from the constituencies they contesting in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election to be held on June 17.
AGP central committee member Dilip Patgiri today visited Dongkamukam Langsudo where he campaigned for Dilip Rongphar, their party candidate for the 8-Hamen MAC constituency. Besides the candidate other important dignitaries present at the campaign include Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy company chairman Purnakon Boruah, and AGP central committee member Ashyat Saikia.
While speaking at the meeting, the AGP central committee member said that people have no faith in Karbi Anglong BJP leaders as there are several cases of corruption which have been raised in the past and therefore, their party is the only alternative party which will take up the issues of the people of the constituency. He said that his party’s main focus is on road connectivity, safe drinking water, electricity and that they will sincerely pursue it once the people of the area extend their support to their party in the ensuing KAAC election.
It may be mentioned that the AGP candidate will be pitted against veteran leader and BJP candidate Mongal Sing Timung and another five candidates including HSDC candidate Chandrasing Ronghang and INC candidate Mohon Engti.
